Best man, best bud, bro of the hour, bro to end all bros. Chris and Ken shared a room for years as kids. Chris thinks his middle name is after his grandfather, but really it was after Ken’s favorite Power Ranger at the time. Underground forts, manhunt with the neighborhood kids, trips to California, and that time our dog puked on our pokemon cards. Ken is wicked proud of how far Chris has come and is pumped to see what’s next.
Katie is The Cool Aunty. Some of Ken’s fondest childhood memories with Katie include trips to the beach, trying to jump headfirst into the hugest waves, and late-night dancing to MTV Hits in the basement. Ask her about the time she mutilated Ken’s innocence at Club Hell!
Folk hero and compatriot de la malinche, Jess-O is the Catholic nun to Ken’s disobedient student. Growing up in Louisiana taught her the value of a tube sock and a can of creamed corn. Ken wouldn’t have made it through college without that kind of wisdom from Jessica. You can also blame her for Ken’s inability to consume gin. Ask her about the time she took out the trash during Katrina!
Jon was the kid next door that (mostly) kept Ken out of trouble. If you ever wondered where Ken got his nerdy habits from, Jon was his partner in crime. Friday nights in middle and high school were filled with Magic the Gathering tournaments, Halo in Ken’s basement and then poker tournaments in Jon’s. Ask Jon how is head is.
Ken met Anthony shortly after moving to San Francisco. They bonded over board game nights, fanboying over AOC and the occasional jaunt out to the Castro. Ken wouldn’t have added those plates to his back squat without Anthony expecting him at the gym every morning (7:08 sharp). Ask him about Lazy Bear!
Drew and Andrew met at Stanford in 2011. Drew found Andrew to be a decent person and reliable team member on school projects, so they went on to work together on Google's Sustainability Team and live together for several years in San Francisco. Andrew introduced Drew to running as a form of actual exercise as well as a ton of incredible live music. Both understand the challenges of being introverts in an extrovert's world. Talk to him about birds.
Shelley is a master of reinventing herself. From her academic pursuits across multiple fields, to her year abroad in Australia, Drew's sister is always growing in new and impressive ways. Drew is incredibly proud of the strong woman his sister has turned out to be.
Vanessa has substantial dirt on Drew from their high school days, but she'll never tell... unless you have good wine. A confidant of Drew's for 20+ years, it's wonderful to bring friends like Vanessa forward through many phases of your life. Drew had the pleasure of being part of Vanessa and Brian's wedding in 2010. They now have two beautiful daughters and spend their days galavanting across the Livermore, CA wine scene.
Drew and Zack grew up across the street from each other and got into a ton of mischief growing up, mostly related smoke bombs and other fire-prone activities. Drew also takes some credit for launching Zack's very impressive culinary and winemaking career through their childhood cooking experiments. Zack, his wife Lindsey, and his family have always been there for Drew (and Shelley!) and it's wonderful to share this experience with them all.
College doesn't really end when you're a Dartmouth Engineer. Drew, Ben, and several other upstanding members of society lived together for two years in C-house - a completely healthy, well-maintained, and code-compliant building a five-minute walk from Thayer school. Topics of conversation with Ben should include gnomes, whiskey, trilambdathon, and creative ways to hinge your roommates' bedroom doors. Ben and another wonderful member of the C-house crew (his wife, Lindsay) now live an idyllic hipster lifestyle in Portland, Maine.
